Flushing system description

The BIOGEST-flushing-system type KS-OF consists of one or more gates, manufactured from stainless steel (AISI 304 or AISI 316Ti) in several sizes.

The principal parts of the system consist of the following: the gate, the gate frame, the gate lock, the hydraulic-cylinder, the main floater body and the control floating body.

During a storm the level in the flushing sump of the storm tank/sewer rises and the float in the sump moves up. This causes the hydraulic cylinder of the control device to operate. The hydraulic cylinder is connected through a control line (hydraulic linkage) with the hydraulic cylinder for the gate. This action locks the gate.

The flushing chamber fills as the level rises within the tank/sewer.

When the tank/sewer is empty the control device releases the gate. The gate swings open due to the pressure of the head in the flushing chamber releasing the flush water and cleaning the tank or sewer. The deposits from the bottom of the tank/sewer will be flushed into the receiving sump.

NEW! To ensure that the gate does not restrict the flushing water the gate only closes on a time delay. This reduces the potential for floating debris being trapped between the gate and the frame.
